Dear Friend,

On Friday, September 16, I will be launching my new book A Call for Balladeers: Pursuing Art and Beauty for the Discipling of Nations with a night of music in beautiful Dana Point, CA. Our ministry feels strongly that the biblical and historical narratives in this book will ignite a passion in artists to use their gift to bring needed transformation within their culture and their nation. Books will be available for a reduced price of $10 per copy!

We want to celebrate, and we hope you will join us and help get the word out. Everyone is invited! Tell your friends!

After reading an early copy of my book, internationally acclaimed concert pianist, Jenny Jee-El Park of Wilberforce International Institute and Music Across Borders went to work planning this concert, which will feature incredible classical music, original hymn arrangements composed for the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, and the release of a newly-composed contemporary theme song, issuing the call, “Arise, Balladeer.” We will enjoy a grand piano and a professional string quintet with violins, viola, cello, and double bass. Additionally, a children’s choir will lead us in reflections on the agape love of God.

This beautiful music will feature visual aids along with appropriate commentary to guide participants in considering their connection to the biblical worldview and theological reflection. We will hear from Dr. Ed Willmington of Fuller Seminary and others! How can certain classical music pieces be used as a metaphor to think about the centrality of the crucifixion? You need to attend to find out, and be inspired! Soli Deo gloria–glory to God alone!

Please pray that this message will get into the hands of those who need it, and that God would lead the people of his choice to the book launch concert.

Now is the time to RSVP and make plans to join this celebration! I hope you will join me in three weeks in Dana Point, CA!

For the glory of the First Artist,

The following announcement was made on August 3, 2022

As I have traveled around the world, I have been convicted about the need for Christian artists to intentionally and prophetically speak to their nations through their art. I have felt a burden to complete this book to help artists understand their calling, their influence, and the firm biblical foundation for their vocation. It is a great joy to announce the release of A Call for Balladeers: Pursuing Art and Beauty for the Discipling of Nations on September 16 with the enthusiastic support of internationally acclaimed concert pianist Jenny Jee-El Park, the Wilberforce International Institute, and Music Across Borders.

Please pray that this message will get into the hands of those who need it, and that God would lead the people of his choice to the book launch concert.

For the glory of the First Artist,

Why Does Your Worldview Matter? (DNA Core Message Series)

Our worldview shapes what we think, how we live, and the kind of culture we create. So when our communities bear bitter fruit—poverty, corruption, injustice—we need to look at the roots below the surface. In this episode, we explore how worldviews are formed, how they shape entire societies, and why true transformation comes from working at this level. Too often, Christian mission stops at conversion and overlooks the need for deep worldview discipleship, leaving people with many unbiblical cultural assumptions…

Can the Sun Rise on the West Again? | Vishal Mangalwadi

Vishal Mangalwadi returns to challenge the pessimistic theology that has sidelined the Western church for decades. He argues that the West’s decline politically and culturally stems from bad theology. We pray, “His Kingdom come and His will be done on earth,” but simultaneously, we as the church in America have retreated from leading in the culture…
