Can you help? Morocco Earthquake Relief

At Disciple Nations Alliance, we will always work on behalf of long-term change, empowering those with whom we serve to create sustainable solutions for community transformation. We are not a relief organization, but rather a global family and network of passionate individuals all around the world.

Today, we are reaching out to you on behalf of a cause that has touched some of our DNA family in Morocco. This country, known for its rich culture and warm hospitality, was impacted on Friday with a 6.8 magnitude earthquake, followed by a 3.9 magnitude aftershock on Sunday. At least 2,497 people have died and more than 2,400 were injured. According to WORLD, “Isolated mountain communities suffered the worst damage, leaving thousands of people without shelter. The earthquake is the deadliest to hit Morocco in more than 60 years.”

From one alliance member:

We felt the earthquake in our area, but there was no damage in our city. Sadly, however, the people in the mountain villages were struck by the earthquake and it’s a disaster there. Some members from our church have decided to make a trip to help and support the people. We are now busy collecting food, blankets, tents and mattresses. We will make a four-day trip to be with these families and deliver these items. Please pray for us that everything goes well, and also for the people who were hurt by this. Thank you so much.

Another reported:

Our family slept in the car on Saturday night due to a large and unsafe crack in our home. We are helping people find places to stay, like in camps. We are giving people food, water, medicine, blankets, and the like. We are also providing formula for babies who lost their parents. So many people have died. It is devastating. Thank you for praying for us.

Disciple Nations Alliance will send 100% of donations to our colleagues on the ground in Morocco. They understand their communities intimately, and they are committed to providing immediate relief while also laying the groundwork for long-term recovery.

Your support can help them make a tangible difference. Will you help provide relief to those families in Morocco? Your generosity will bring hope, healing, and restoration to communities in need.

No contribution is too small to make a difference. For Project Designation, select “Morocco Relief Work” at disciplenations.org/donate

Gender Unity and Diversity with Lisa and Nelson Monteiro

In his forthcoming book, “The Grand Design,” Darrow Miller explains how as image bearers of God, both male and female are equal in value and dignity, while also beautifully designed with unique roles and functions. Today we are joined by our good friends Lisa and Nelson Monteiro, who have both played integral roles in The Grand Design course and book creation. Because the Monteiros have lived in both Brazil and Canada, they have a unique perspective on the way cultural views of men and women can be helpful or damaging. You’ll hear about the tears, conversations, and behind-the-scenes stories that led to the creation of The Grand Design book and course. Join us as we explore the transformative power of truth and the unique challenges and opportunities of ministry in cultures rooted in sexism or feminism.
