Church leaders from all over Latin America gather for training and fellowship

Here is a brief report from the recent Training of Trainers conference that was December 6-9 in Panama.

What happens when you bring together 100 people from 12 different countries with one goal? You have a true time of rejoicing in seeing what God wants to do with the nations.

The DNA Latin America group came together for its first Training of Trainers meeting. People from Chile, Peru, Paraguay, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, Honduras, Mexico, Cuba, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic and the United States met to learn how to be mentors as well as Vision Conference teachers but went away with more than just the training. There was a lot of fellowship, networking, learning, and a time of standing in awe at what God is doing in Latin America. As people begin to grasp a biblical worldview and share it with others, great things happen.

The last Training of Trainers for the Latin America region was in May 2014.

In the Dominican Republic, AMO has taught more than 1,400 teachers who are now teaching children to think from a biblical worldview. In Paraguay, different evangelical denominations throughout the country have united, and 60 percent of them now are being trained in the DNA school of thought. In Lima, Peru, a large church conducts more than 600 seed projects every year in which they clean up neighborhoods, donate blood for leukemia patients, honor the police and firemen, etc.

Recently, Colombia saw a miracle take place in its government as the Christians met together to pray and then see a law ratified to recognize that a family consists of one man and one woman. As they were standing outside the office of the secretary of education, only that building started shaking, causing the people to flee. Also in Colombia, the youth of a church decided to start doing Disciplines of Love directed toward their parents. It helped the youth to see that it is just as important to serve at home as it is in the youth group. The announcement that Coram Deo is up and running in Spanish had a great response. We were able to watch the first lesson which encouraged 60 of those present to sign up to start the classes personally or start classes with others “back home.”

Church leaders considered how their congregations can be agents of wholistic transformation in their communities.

In addition to these testimonies, training was done. Luis Sena and Bob Moffitt shared in such a way that many of the students were impacted for the first time or once again about their need to re-examine their lives and consider why they think and do things the way they do, questioning whether they are truly doing things biblically. As a whole, the body went away better prepared to start training others so that God’s kingdom might come to earth as it is in heaven.
