On March 28, a devastating 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar, resulting in more than 3,600 fatalities and thousands of people injured. Myanmar’s people already suffer from long standing civil conflict and nearly 50% of the population lives on less than $0.86 per day.
While not a relief organization, DNA is an alliance of Kingdomizers who cooperate together, empowering believers around the world to be Jesus’ hands and feet, showing His love at all times. DNA has two wonderful Kingdomizers in Myanmar who have been part of our alliance for over a decade, sharing DNA’s training and equipping countless facilitators. These leaders have an important role and influence in collaborating among many churches and are widely respected.
We want to share an opportunity for you to send support for much-needed short-term relief.
Here is a recent report from our DNA Kingdomizers in Myanmar:
Three days after the earthquake, we went to the hardest-hit areas. We joined with elders of all denominations to coordinate prayer and relief efforts, making plans to distribute essential items through churches to the needy in their neighborhoods. We brought with us clean drinking water, wet tissues, and medicine. I was relieved that while many buildings were badly damaged, they were not completely destroyed, which would have resulted in much higher fatalities. I praised God for His grace and mercy in this.
Even so, many houses were cracked and uninhabitable, causing people to live and sleep outside, in the fields, and on the walkways. We have not found any temporary toilets or bathrooms, contributing to unsanitary and unsafe conditions. The afternoon heat was terrible, and it rained heavily one night. They predict the rain will be early this year and there are concerns for cholera, typhoid, dengue fever, skin diseases, and more.

The main thing everyone wants is drinking water. It’s difficult even to find drinking water to donate.
People’s grief and trauma are profound. We see a deep wound and fear in people as we witnessed people running when there were small tremors.
Factories, businesses, and shops have closed, impacting many workers. The cost of demolishing ruined homes and rebuilding will be extensive, and the area authority is putting pressure on people to clear the rubble quickly.
Our people need to feel our prayers, encouragement, and care. Let’s pray and work more to provide physical help, emotional support, comforting discussions, and spiritual reassurance.
We are ready to send 100% of your gift to local church-based relief efforts in Myanmar.
